June 19, 20, 21 Lake Tashmoo, Tisbury ~ Martha's Vineyard

Lake Tashmoo is a quite anchorage within walking distance of Vineyard Haven. It is the best of all the cruising grounds that I know of. The sandbar at the entrance is enough to keep most boats out, once in the harbor there is plenty of water, and a peaceful anchorage that always has plenty of room. Geese, ducks and swans abound, and half of every loaf of bread on-board goes to the wildlife.

July 17, 18, 19 West Island

August 14, 15, 16 Red Brook Harbor

One of the biggest natural harbors in Buzzards Bay, Red Brook Harbor is home to more than 700 boats and that number could swell to between 800 and 900 on a beautiful weekend. It is well protected from the prevailing SW wind and is also a harbor of refuge for strong winds from any direction. A tour would include viewing the many and varied boats in and around Kingman Yacht Center and Parker's Boat Yard and visiting the little coves such as Hen's Cove, Hospital Cove, Barlow's Landing and the Mill Pond. The east side of Basset's Island is a popular anchorage at any time but the number of boats increases many times on a beautiful weekend. Along the way are the shorelines of Scraggy Neck and Wing's Neck and the beautiful homes that have been built there as well as along the shorelines of Red Brook Harbor.

September 11, 12, 13  Cuttyhunk Cruise, Bonfire, Fireworks

Cuttyhunk Island was discovered by Bartholomew Gosnold (the Town is actually called Gosnold) in the year 1602, it is the most westerly of the thirteen Elizabeth Islands that stretch westward from the elbow of the Cape. It sits fourteen miles off the coast of the historic whaling port of New Bedford, Massachusetts. Gosnold's account of his island discoveries in the New World (he also named Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard) is said to have served as the basis for Shakepeare's play The Tempest.
Cuttyhunk Island is part of the Town of Gosnold, in the Commonwealth of Massachusets.
Cuttyhunk Island rests 12 miles south of New Bedford, MA and 8 miles west of Gay Head, Martha's Vineyard.
Cuttyhunk Island is a place to do a whole lot of nothing.
Cuttyhunk Island has a small beach (which seems to have sand that moves about every year!), a great harbor, good fishing, a few dozen houses, some great ice cream(!), and some beautiful hiking trails.
Cuttyhunk does not have discos, bars, malls, a singles scene, a party life, video games, parking lots, traffic, or much action.
What Cuttyhunk does have is a quiet, isolated, beautiful, ocean environment, perfect for getting in touch with yourself and your family, or just catching up with your reading!
Cuttyhunk is famous for fishing and relaxing.
